Ou Ning presented The Da Zha Lan Project in Creative Links: Design and Consultation in Urban Regeneration, the forum co-organised by British Council and the Hong Kong Design Centre. The forum united designers, artists, architects, academics, policy makers and opinion leaders from the UK, Hong Kong and mainland China in a professional tripartite dialogue with a focus on the integration of good urban design and community involvement in the process. Around 6 o' clock this afternoon, Jin Shuying' s home at No. 33, Shitou Hutong was caught in a big fire due to the improper use of gas. All items in their family were burned and the fire spread to their neighbors' homes. The Shitou Community Committee is raising donations for families suffering from the fire. |

These are four female students from the School of Applied Fine Arts in Beijing, one of which live in Tiaozhou Hutong. They have returned to the Hutong from school during the National Holiday. There is a small sense of liveliness thanks to having young people around in Da Zha Lan area where there are usually older people and kids. |

Zhang Jinli, a resident of no. 117 Meishi Street who is to be removed and relocated, hanged red banners and slogans from the top of his building, pointing out that "the Bureau of National Land Resources and Community Committee had made perjury concerning issues of demolition and relocation." It brought a circle of passers-by that gathered around his building. |

In the first meeting on collection of materials for the Da Zha Lan Project, Ou Ning,Cao Fei, Huang Weikai, Yang Guowei, Di Shen, Zhang Liang, Tu Nan, Liang Le, Xu Jian, Huang Liguang, Tang Yi, Li Shurui, Guo Hongwei, Zhang Yaxuan, Lu Gang were present. The Da Zha Lan Project has finally formed a 16-member team of voluntary artists. Ou Ning presented the overall concept of this project in detail and video clips collected from a month-long visit to all villages-in-city and city corners in Beijing. Cao Fei and Huang Weikai added to his presentation their experiences from executing The San Yuan Li Project. |
